Description
Summary:Since 1984, there has been rapid economic development in Malaysia and therefore a new study is considered necessary. The Malaysian Reading Habits Study, 1996 was entrusted to Frank Small & Associates (S.E.Asia) Sdn. Bhd. aims to identify the diverse aspects of Malaysians' reading habits based on family characteristics, types of reading materials read, reading practices, reading frequency and the language used for reading. The findings of this study can also provide guidance to government agencies, non-governmental organizations, private institutions, and individuals who are responsible for the importance of producing quality reading materials in line with the needs of the community. The data and information collected from this study can be used as a basis in solving the various problems encountered in the reading promotion program, and finally to formulate an appropriate strategy in creating a society rich in information in line with the aspirations of Vision 2020.
