The book is appropriate for young adults at institutes, colleges, and universities, and for adults in continuing education programs. Young adults (16 to 18 years) in senior high schools would also find the material interesting and meaningful. As the text tends to favor no particular place or culture, ESL Grammar Handbook is appropriate for those who are not living in the United States, the United Kingdom, or other English-speaking countries. Although the order of the explanations has been carefully graded and sequenced, for advanced students it is not essential that the order of presentation be followed exactly as planned. However, for intermediate students (for whom much of the material may be new). I recommend that the order of the explanations be adhered to since the book is semi- programmed, and the old material is constantly being reviewed within the context of the new. |
