Summary: | The 16th Century Malay Language: An Analysis Based on the Malay Texts of Aqa'id Al-Nasafi, is one of the Basic Study Publications series for the Malay language history compilation project. This book examines the form of language used in the sixteenth century based on the Aqa'id Al-Nasafi manuscript, which is considered the oldest Malay manuscript found to date. This text adds to our knowledge about the evolution of the Malay language in terms of spelling, namely Jawi spelling, morphophonemic system, morphology, nahu and vocabulary. The discovery of this "Aqa'id text made a great contribution to the community of Malay speakers and scholars because, for the first time, they were informed that there was authentic evidence of the form of the sixteenth century Malay language. |
