Summary:This paper present and highlights the existing progress and development of the paper mills in Malaysia, In particular, emphasis is given to the production capacities of various types of paper that are currently being manufactured by the established local paper mills. It also outlines the status of the various sources of raw materials such as waste paper and pulp that are currently consumed by the local paper mills. Further attempt is made to highlight the import and export of paper in the country and their implication towards the future development of local paper industry to achieve self- sufficiency in the years to come.
