 All 29 papers in this book present the problem of the use of science terms in the Malaysian language which covers fields such as physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, geology, engineering and others. Among the problems presented are: a. A term that often changes. b. Malaysian terms are English in nature. c. Many terms vary between fields and subfields. d. A term that is not uniform among universities with another. Among the solutions that have been presented and jointly agreed upon is the establishment of a Basic Science/Applied Science Terms Coordinating Committee for the purpose of coordinating the terms of the relevant fields/subfields. In addition, the Language and Library Council is also actively compiling term dictionaries.
