Description
Summary:This text is an elementary introduction (non-academic and largely non-technical), written essentialy for the new CEE Computer Studies syllabus, and therefore eminently suitable for many CSE type courses. The approach emphasises information processing in particular, illustrated by several real examples, and carefully explains the structure of computer systems, the role of input/output devices and storage devices, and the role and types of software. Naturally the whole treatment is micro-orientated. End-of-chapter exercises are provided and the important words and terms are clearly highlighted.
