Description
Summary:This book is a sequel to the introductory text published in 1976, The Sociology of Developing Societies. The writer decided to write a wholly new text rather than a revised edition of that book because of the qualitative changes that have taken place both in the facts and in the theories of 'development'. This book has been written as guiding text for students of Third World. It makes no claim to offer an original thesis, nor does it expressly and consistently favour one point of view as againts another. Of course, from the selection of facts as well as in the presentation of the theories, the writer's preference for a Marxist perspective of world development will be made clear.
