Summary: | Most buyers of A Practical Approach to Company Law are students, and we are aware that students require a book at the beginning of their academic year which is as up-to-date as possible at that time. This 3rd edition is therefore being published at the beginning of the 1986/87 academic year. In preparing it we have taken account of all relevant legislation enacted up to 1 August 1986 and all relevant cases reported up to that day. Our thanks go to the typesetters and printers, and to Heather Saward of Financial Training Publications, for arranging such speedy production. Since our 2nd edition, which stated the law as at 1 August 1985, an important new statute has been enacted, the Insolvency Act 1985. But this Act has already disappeared, having been consolidated with other law relating to company insolvency and winding up in the Insolvency Act 1986 and the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986. It is expected that these Acts will be brought into force in December 1986 and this edition assumes they are in force. |
