On a microscopic scale, a solid has the following characteristics: the atoms or molecules that make up the solid are in a solid position. These constituent elements have fixed positions in space relative to each other. This is a solid rigidity. If sufficient power is used, one of these characteristics can change, causing a permanent change. Since each solid has thermal energy, its atoms vibrate. However, this movement is very small and very fast, and cannot be seen under normal conditions.
