Description
Summary:In writing this book I have tried to do two things. Firstly, to incorporate into one volume the sort of material which I consider essential for students who intend taking up secretarial positions. To include everything, I soon found, is impossible and as well as inevitably you will feel that I should have mentioned something else! I think it important to stress that my emphasis is on the secretarial perspective and that I have not attempted to supply material which is more appropriate to Office Practice. Therefore it has not been my intention to discuss in great detail standard office procedures, the operation of machinery and simple office equipment, or topics like basic banking and the calculation of wages and salaries. I have endeavoured to draw from my experience over many years in this area of teaching and to approach the topics in ways that I have found to be successful with students, whilst at the same time to cater adequately for examination requirements.
