Half of it is harvested by humans, for biological purposes or their own enterprises. What has been produced is known as production and what has been harvested is the result. Both of these terms should be used for the production of which the type can be clearly defined, that is, a particular type of groups of organisms, or a particular type or group of organ compounds. Production in any large ecosystem begins with photo synthesis. This production continues through an intricate food chain. Its most notable production is the staged stocks of organisms. The individual sizes of these organisms increase as their bulk volume decreases. Also important to the system as a whole are micro-organisms whose lives depend on plants and animals that die at each stage, and instead become a platform for rising upwards in the food pyramid. |
