Description
Summary:The appearance of yet another single volume text on British Government would seem to require some words of explanation. The range and relative intractability of the potential subject matter is immense. A single text that did full justice to the content and context of British government, even if that were feasible, would have to be of formidable size and complexity. It is this difficulty, no doubt, which has led to the launching of several series of short monographs dealing with various aspects of the study of politics, including British politics, in the not necessarily well-founded belief that a collection of unrelated contributions will together constitute a comprehensive treatment of a particular broad field.
