By 1934, the leading figures were all exiled by the Dutch authorities, but they had succeeded in establishing Indonesian nationalism as a force which no one could subsequently ignore. This is the first study to analyse these developments on the basis of the extensive Dutch intelligence reports, as well as Indonesian newspaper collections. |
