Leon Zaven Surmelian (; November 24, 1905 – October 3, 1995) was an Armenian-American writer. Surmelian moved to America in 1922, and authored three major works throughout his lifetime. A survivor of the Armenian genocide, Surmelian published his first English book, ''I Ask You, Ladies and Gentlemen'' in 1945. He is also well known for translating the Armenian epic ''Daredevils of Sassoun'' ("Sasna Dzrer") into English. Provided by Wikipedia
