Michael O'Kane

O'Kane''' (July 12, 1849 – December 26, 1917) was an American Catholic priest and Jesuit who was the president of the College of the Holy Cross from 1889 to 1893. Born in Ireland, he emigrated to the United States as a toddler and was raised in Massachusetts. He attended the College of the Holy Cross before entering the Society of Jesus in 1867. He then studied and later taught philosophy at Jesuit institutions.

As president of the college, he oversaw construction of Fenwick Hall and an athletic field. After four years, he left and spent the rest of his life engaged in missionary and pastoral work, including as the rector of St. Joseph's Church in Philadelphia from 1910 to 1912. Provided by Wikipedia
